In Birdhouse - The freedom of flight and the security of shelter between the branches gives this image a sense of liberation in nature. This image was inspired by noticing the many varieties of birds in densely populated urban settings. Nature triumphs over structure in this image.
Using mainly linocuts as form of expression to celebrate everyday life, she creates a theatre of the mundane in small formats varying in size from 2" X 2" to 2" X 4". Themes of interest include 'Humans & Beings' 'Snacks & Apparel' and 'Housing'. Taking inspiration from everyday rituals of commuting and grocery shopping to tea and toast, she reveals overlooked daily performances on a tiny linocut stage.
