Wu Wing Yee's Dwelling series is based on the photographic image of her ceramic sculptures. The image was layered with sheets of rice paper on which she worked further on with white paint. Abstract and organic, the structure and movements of the paintings also resemble the push and pull in calligraphy.

Wu Wing Yee's work reflects a life of travel and exploration. She works in sculptures, painting, drawing, mix-media and installation. Her Chinese background has provided her inexhaustible nutrients to create contemporary artwork musing on a culture that is 4000 years old.

Wu Wing Yee was born in Hong Kong and educated in Hong Kong and the United States. Returning to Hong Kong from the United States in 1996, she engaged in full-time creative work, founding her own workshop as well as teaching ceramic sculpture in museums and art centers. Her sculptures are in the collections of various museums and private collections worldwide. Working as a full time artist, she divides her time between Hong Kong, China and North America.
